Tri-M General Meeting #3 (11:02 - 11:09)

Not the most recent meeting, but the one before that, to avoid beatings from Aziz.

There isn't much cohesion here, so I'll just give you a rundown:

- The Composers'/Songwriters' Club meets Fridays in the band room/practice rooms, if you're interested in joining!
- There's a petition circulating on behalf of the larger Tri-M to get music recognized as a core subject, which you can sign regardless of how futile doing so might actually be. (And it's pretty futile.)
- Those who are interested in auditioning for the All-American Marching Band should talk to Aziz. This opportunity is for juniors only.
- Make sure you join a committee NOW! It was underlined and in caps in my notebook, so I think this one's pretty important.

That's about all that was covered. Also, please make sure you sign up for events! Remember, you need to have completed at least three events to either be inducted or to maintain your membership in the honor society by the end of the year.

- Weili

10/20, Tri-M General Meeting #2 (11:00 - 11:19)

Thanks for the great turnout, everybody!  I'm afraid these minutes may not be quite as beautiful as those taken by Weili, but here we have it:

Fundraising
  • originally planned to buy Tri-M instrument tags for each member, but will buy pins instead because choral members would look silly
  • thus, possible fundraisers
    • bake sale (in front of Strathmore?)
    • singing carwash
Committee Chair Election Results
  • Band - Sahil Jhangiani
  • Publicity - Mary Li
  • Choral - Ilanna Newman
  • Orchestra - Christina Luo
  • Special Events - Nick Shawen
  • Not everyone got a chance to sign up for a committee; please think about which one you'd like to join and we will continue sign-ups at the next meeting.
Chorus at JW
  • If you are free on Thursday afternoons, please, please contact Amy Hosseinnian
  • They really need a piano player!

Congratulations to our new committee chairs and thanks for everyone's enthusiasm!  See you on Monday, 11/3 at 11:00!
